  • Permanent Makeup, also known as cosmetic micropigmentation, is a treatment that implants medical-grade pigment into the upper layers of the skin to enhance your natural features. It can be used to define the eyebrows, lips, eyeliner, scalp or recreate the appearance of the areola following surgery. Results are designed to look natural and typically last between 1–5 years depending on the treatment area, skin type and lifestyle.

  • Permanent makeup is considered long-lasting rather than truly permanent. Pigment naturally fades over time as your skin renews itself and is affected by factors such as sun exposure, skincare products, skin type and your immune system.

    Most clients choose a colour boost every 12–36 months to maintain their results.

  • Most clients describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. A topical anaesthetic is used throughout the procedure to maximise comfort, although everyone's pain threshold is different.

  • How long does a permanent makeup treatment take?

    Permanent makeup is completed over three appointments to ensure your treatment is carefully planned and achieves the best possible result.

    Consultation (30 minutes)
    Your first appointment is a detailed consultation. We'll discuss your goals, review your medical history, assess your suitability for treatment, answer any questions, and begin designing your desired result. No treatment is carried out during this appointment.

    Treatment Appointment (up to 2 hours)
    Your second appointment is when your permanent makeup is performed. This includes precise measurements, mapping, colour selection, approval of the design, treatment, and detailed aftercare advice.

    Perfection Session (1 hour)
    Approximately 8 weeks later, you'll return for your perfection session. As the skin heals, some pigment naturally softens or heals unevenly. This appointment allows us to reinforce the colour, refine the shape if required, and perfect the final result.

    This three-stage approach helps achieve the most natural, long-lasting outcome possible.

  • Yes.

    Most new permanent makeup treatments require two appointments.

    Your second appointment (often called a perfection session) is usually performed 6–8 weeks later to reinforce the colour, refine the shape and ensure the pigment has healed evenly.

  • This varies between individuals.

    Typical longevity is:

    • Brows: 1–3 years

    • Lip Blush: 2–4 years

    • Eyeliner: 3–5 years

    • Scalp Micropigmentation: 3–5 years

    Annual colour boosts help maintain the best results.

  • Immediately after treatment the colour can appear darker and more defined than the healed result.

    This is completely normal.

    As the skin heals the colour typically softens by around 30–40%, leaving a more natural appearance.

  • Treatment may need to be postponed or may not be suitable if you:

    • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

    • Have an active skin infection

    • Have uncontrolled diabetes

    • Have certain autoimmune conditions

    • Are undergoing chemotherapy (unless cleared by your consultant)

    • Have recently used Roaccutane

    • Have keloid scarring tendencies

    • Have certain bleeding disorders

    A medical consultation is carried out before every treatment.

  • Often, yes.

    We regularly treat clients with previous permanent makeup that has faded, changed colour or become uneven.

    Depending on the existing pigment, correction, colour adjustment or removal may be recommended before a new treatment.

    Avoid:

    • Gym

    • Swimming

    • Saunas

    • Steam rooms

    • Excessive sweating

    for approximately 7–10 days following treatment.
